Abstract

This article analyzes a university outreach experience carried out by first- and fourth-year Computer Science Engineering students at Columbia University in Paraguay during the first semester of 2025. The project involved the development and implementation of an information system for the management and digitization of administrative documents at a community institution in the city of San Lorenzo. The methodology was applied, with a project-based approach and a technical-descriptive approach, encompassing phases such as needs assessment, system design, development, testing, and user training.

The project strengthened the bond between the university and the community, allowing students to apply their professional skills in a real context. Among the highlighted results are improvements in administrative processes, inter-level collaborative work, and the positive impact perceived by the stakeholders involved.
